Day 01: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth hosts a large variety and volume of wildlife. It boasts one of the highest bio diversity ranging from the open savannah to rain forest, dense swamps and beautiful crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.

Almost 10 species that include Hippos, buffaloes, lions, leopard, and the elusive giant forest hog. There are over 600 species of birds found here. In the evening there will be a game drive.

Day 02: Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel then drive to Bwindi Forest
This morning after having had your breakfast you will enjoy a unique 2 hour boat ride on the Kazinga channel and into Lake Edward. On the launch trip, possibly the highest concentration of hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edges. This launch cruise offers an excellent plarform for photography, birdwatching and game viewing. Later you will continue to Bwindi Forest driving through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth Game park with the hopes of seeing the tree climbing lions.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
Breakfast, then report to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing where you will be briefed on the etiquettes of gorilla tracking. You will then embark on your memorable journey with the company of ranger guides taking you through the forest, slashing at the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas.

Gorilla trekking can take from half and hour to 6 hours therefore a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. You will sit in the forest among the gorillas listening to them grumble at each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dorminat male the silver back. It is amazing to think that there are only 650 or so of these creatures left ib the world!

If you have the afternoon free, you can take a guided walk in the village to see how the communities live. Overnight Engagi Lodge

Day 4: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
Today you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park halfway between Entebbe and Bwindi. Lake Mburo lies in covered extensive acacia woodland. Lake Mburo has markedly different fauna to toher reserves. Lake Mburo is the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland, antelope as well as Zebra, topi, impala and several acacia-associated birds.

The five lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles and a variety of waterbirds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the siatatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus gonolek. You will enjoy a short game drive on the way to your lodge.

Day 5: Departure
This morning after your wake up cup of coffe, you will participate in a safari walk in the company of a ranger guide, return to the lodge for breakfast, then game drive on your way out of the park to Entebbe. En-route there will be a stop at the equator.

Continue to Entebbe to connect with your international flight out.

Notes

Our scheduled tours requires a deposit of of US$800 per person in order to secure the included gorilla permit. We also require full passport details at time of booking. The additional deposit paid at time of booking will be credited to the final balance of your booking.
Gorilla permits in all parks are on a very high demand and we advise that you book them as early as possible.
Clients who desire to to be accommodated in single rooms, a single supplement is available.
Accommodation on this tour will have private bathrooms.
Depending on the group of gorillas you will be tracking we will choose where to sleep in Bwindi. There are 4 areas for Gorilla tracking in Bwindi: Buhoma, Ruhija and Nkuringo and Rushaga.
Some lodges may ask for seasonal surcharges for the Easter and Christmas Holidays.

Please do not book any flights until after 2pm on the departure day.

Please note that to track the gorillas you must be 15 years or older (prior to start of travel) - there are no exceptions to this as it is for safety reasons and strictly controlled by the Government.
Gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking takes place in humid rain forests, steep terrain and high altitude, you therefore need to be in excellent physical condition, without any heart problems and prepared to spend a strenuous day trekking for chimpanzee and gorillas, as well as other primates.

You will need some extra money to cover meals and drinks not included in the tour price, any optional sightseeing, souvenirs and items of a personal nature such as laundry.
