The Selous Big 5 Lodge is a mid range lodge located 20 minutes drive (about 9km) from the Selous Game Reserves Mtemere gate. The lodge is set on the banks of Rufiji River and there is excellent birdwatching in the area.

The Selous Big 5 Lodge has its dining area and bar built from Mahogany wood with stunning views over the Rufiji River. You can enjoy a cold drink while watching crocodiles and hippos in comfort.

The restaurant serves good International as well as local cuisine and can cater for special dietary requirements. We have only had good reports of the food at this lodge.

Accommodation is in round huts with electricity, satellite TV, and Internet access. There is a relaxing lounge area with an open fire. The Selous Big 5 Lodge has 4 bandas, a tree house for the more adventurous and a family bungalow all with hot water, good showers and toilets. Rooms have double beds with mosquito nets. All units look onto the Rufiji River, with its abundant of bird life, hippos and crocodiles.
