Rwanda tour - 9 Days itinerary:

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park
After breakfast you will transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park which is on the north-eastern part of Rwanda on the Tanzania and Uganda border. On arrival you will have lunch and relax at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Early morning Game drive in Akagera
Today you will have breakfast and later go for a game drive. During the game drive you will see animals like the Bushbuck, Eland, Impala, Oribi and Topi, Buffalo, Olive Baboons, Giraffe, Vervet monkeys, Zebra, Hyenas, Leopards, Lions elephant, hyena and black rhino. Return to the lodge for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast you will transfer to Volcanoes national park. The drive takes about 6 hours. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda Volcanoes National park
You will have breakfast at the lodge and with parked lunch you will go for a briefing at the park head quarters of volcanoes national park, and then set of for gorilla tracking. This may take one to 8 hours depending on the movement. When you get to the gorillas you will be allowed to be with them for one hour. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Dianne Fossey Grave visit
Breakfast and then go for Dianne Fossey trekking which is quiet interesting. Dianne Fossey’s grave tombs are nestled between the beautiful volcanic peaks of Karisimbi and Bishoke. After trekking have a brief excursion to the spectacular panoramic views of the Twin Lakes; Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo and the Virunga mountain chain. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 6: Transfer to Butare
After breakfast drive to Butare via Kigali. You will have lunch in Kigali town; get to visit the King’s palace in Nyanza, the national museum in Butare, the genocide memorial site and many other interesting places. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Butare

Day 7: Genocide memorial and transfer to Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast you will drive to Nyungwe Forest, you will have lunch and relax the rest of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast you will go for chimpanzee tracking. During chimpanzee tracking you will also spot other primates like the Ruwenzori colobus and L’Hoest’s monkeys, Mountain monkeys, Angolan black, colobus monkeys, Owl-faced Monkey, Mona Monkey, Blue Monkey, Golden Monkey, Red-tailed Monkey, Vervet Monkey and Olive Baboons among others. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 9: Departure
Breakfast and transfer to Kigali, visit the genocide memorial site and other interesting places. Have lunch and later transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
