Mount Gahinga Lodge

Mount Gahinga Lodge – Uganda

Nestled in the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes, Mount Gahinga is an exclusive Uganda adventure lodge that has the impressive backdrop of three of the volcanoes themselves. Its rustic charm creates an absorbing atmosphere of tranquility and history. Each of our Uganda luxury safari lodges were built to echo local techniques and design. Gahinga Lodge also partners with the Batwa Tribe, to offer interactive tours through the community of one of Africa’s oldest tribes.

The main building features a rustic living space with a warm central fire that offers the ideal environment for relaxing at the end of the day, with the terrace outside and a spacious sunroom adjoining the living area completing the peaceful and open style. Each of the bandas has been thoroughly renovated to offer unparalleled luxury in the region. Each room has a fireplace and an en-suite bathroom with showers and flush toilets and each is reached by taking a short stroll through the large gardens that fill the lodge with life.

The lodge comprises of 6 stone guest bandas with papyrus roofs (3 doubles, 3 twins), en-suite bathrooms with  flushing toilet, double vanity, shower with hot and cold running water.  Rooms have 240v lighting and a private veranda.  Bandas are individually named after each of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Safari Destinations

Zanzibar Beach

Just like Tanzania, Zanzibar is three hours in the advance of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+3). It doesn't operate daylight saving time, and consequently there's no time difference between Zanzibar's summer and winter months.

Discover Uganda

Uganda is a truly “authentic” safari destination - definitely less sophisticated than Tanzania or Kenya in terms of infrastructure and not in the same “big game” league, but equally untouched and as genuine as Africa gets.
Uganda’s gorillas, chimps, birds and the wider range of special-interest attractions (from butterflies to orchids) makes it a perfect match for first timers and seasoned African visitors alike.

Visit Tanzania

Tanzania home to Africa's most dramatic and famous features.  Fantastic wildlife, stunning scenery and idyllic beaches Tanzania is virtually unrivalled in terms of wildlife population and diversity. From the biggest African plains, the Serengeti, to the highest African mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro, to the deepest African Lake Tanganyika.
Pemba offers classic tropical beaches to those wanting to get away from the crowds, whilst the Selous Game Reserve never disappoints those looking for lion and elephant!
